New year's eve meme.

Hellooooo, 2011! :D mannn, can you believe this, 2010 has come to an end. it was a great smooth-sailing year, so let's hope that this continues on to 2011 :)

anyway, new year's meme! shh lemme tell you something, i actually scheduled this post to be published on nye, but uh, somehow something went wrong (read: noob sial) so it didn't get published as planned *hangs head in shame ._. but no matter, better late than never haha. hopefully this blog will still be around on 31 Dec 2011 so i'll get to compare and contrast a little :)

1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
Travel overseas without the parental units; sign up for organ donation; reverse into a car; get shat on by a bird and a lizard on separate occasions (okay, technically i didn't do it myself, but getting shat on is a first); take up a new language; checked my eyesight and gotten specs; see Slash in person wth; sat on the Solero Shot (i honestly thought i'd never have the guts to do it!); bake!; do cash deposit for online shopping and ended up banking in the money back into my own account WTF.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think i made any in 2010, yay. i might or might not make resolutions for next year; it depends on whether i'm motivated to do so. i'm someone who needs little moments to inspire and give her reason to.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope :(

4. Did anyone close to you die?
A friend's father passed on. Deepest condolences.

5. What countries did you visit?
Hong Kong only :(

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
The courage and strength to focus on problems that i face and not choose to turn my back on them. more self-discipline to procrastinate less. gawd don't i need that every year.

7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
17 september. it's a date to remind myself that wishes do come true but, at the same time, plans could also already be underway to retract it.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Welllll, i think it's surviving my final exams and getting results that i can be satisfied with. as ordinary as it seems, triumphing above everything despite suffering from a broken heart and relationship at the same time wasn't a simple feat. to be honest, i'm quite proud of myself for having remained so composed and rational during the whole period.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Running away from and consciously turning a blind eye to some problems i had.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Thankfully, no, save for a fever and minor flu and all that.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Er, my specs? hahah well if it isn't for it, i can't drive at night.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Friends'. countless of times, i'm reminded of how lucky i am to have such great friends :)

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I don't think i was particularly made appalled/depressed by anyone's behavior.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Makan, movies and merry-making.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Uh, Hong Kong during the days leading up to HK; rock climbing which began and ended with lightning streaks and a failed attempt.

16. What song will always remind you of 2010?

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?
Happier, about the same size, richer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Involved myself more in stuffs around the campus, caught up more with high school friends, be courageous enough to drive to places although i may not know the directions.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Opening my mouth and in the process, not consider others' feelings.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Doing this meme, HAHA.

21. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Yeap.

22. What was your favorite TV program?
How I Met Your Mother!

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Nope.

24. What was the best book you read?
Uh, can't remember much but The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom were good.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Tyler Ward, David Guetta, Ingrid Michaelson, Mindy Gledhill, Hindi songs (actually just two, Noor E Khuda and Sajda :P)

26. What did you want and get?
A lot.

27. What did you want and not get?
A lot.

28. What was your favorite film this year?
The first movie which came to my mind was My Name Is Khan, so i guess it's that :) oh but Inception was bloody brilliant too! but they were both different genres so yeah, hard to decide.

29. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
Study wtf. what do you expect, it was a day before a paper. 19.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More traveling!

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Uh, i really don't know how to describe my fashion concept. i guess it was more towards anything cutesy and feminine. it was kinda surprising too; it started to involve leggings.

32. What kept you sane?
Music.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
The usual. Wang Lee Hom and Raymond Lam :P

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
Don't ask me this wei seriously.

35. Who did you miss?
Can't think of anyone.

36. Who was the best new person you met?
Best new person i re-met, perhaps? :)
