I was in Ipoh during the weekend. it was a good trip back and a much-needed one, considering how i haven't been back to my hometown since CNY this year. ipoh remains one of my favourite places in the world, but it's funny how my interpretation of the place changes with time.
as a 19 year-old, ipoh is to me no longer a place which holds beautiful and precious memories. rather, the people there are of more importance to me now. a few years back, i used to tear whenever it's time to leave ipoh because i'd miss the place and my cousins/relatives there. but as time passes, things change. people change. i realise that it's not the place which gives me pleasant memories but instead, the selected few people in it.
beautiful as the mist-covered mountains in front of my parents' house are, ipoh is starting to be what it is - just a hometown. but i think that's okay, cos i'm learning that what i truly treasure are the people i call my family.
